The President of the Tunisian Association of Digital Geographic Information, Mr. Mohamed AYARI with a delegation from the Association visited Algeria from December 09 to December 15, 2012. The travel included a visit to a number of Algerian institutions concerned with scientific research related to geography and GIS.
At the beginning of the visit, the delegation went to the University of Hawari Bou Median in Alger where they met its academic team and they discussed the possibility of promoting their cooperation at the scientific level in the field of geography.
In fact, the University includes Academic experts at the international level whose responsibility is to promote scientific research and the university’s laboratories.
The delegation then visited the University of Wahran, west of Algeria, where they participated in the 4th edition of Algerian Geographic Days, organized by The Faculty of Earth Sciences Geography and Spatial Configuration. The delegation met many researchers, academics and participants so that they discussed mechanisms of promoting the use of geomatics technologies such GIS and remote sensing. The delegation met also the international expert and member of the Geotunis scientific council, Hsin Nechnich, with whom they discussed the possibilities of promoting cooperation with Algeria in the 7th edition of the international congress Geotunis which will be held from April 08 to April 12, 2013 in Tunis.
The delegation visited the regional office of the Algerian newspaper Alkhbar, where journalists made an interview with the president of the association which was published on Tuesday December 15, 2012.
The delegation visited also monuments and historical sites of the deferent cities in Algeria.
