Abstract
The major elements, nutrients, miscellaneous, (TDS) and (EC) for thirteen (30) water samples were measured from upper part of sandy Dibdiba Aquifer at Safwan area in south Iraq. Depending on agricultural specification, the salinity of groundwater was divided into three groups.
The results shows, the total dissolved solids and electrical conductivity for all the irrigation water are exceed the usual range.
Nitrate and most of Boron concentration is more than usual range for all samples, while the PH value is within the usual range.
The sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) for water irrigation at upper and lower limit is (20.55) and (3.21) respectively.
Sodium ion percentage (Na %) for upper limit is (63.06) and lower limit is (34.36).
The quality of irrigation water in is doubtful-un suitable to good-permissible water type quality according to (SAR) and good – permissible – doubtful water quality according to (Na%). This quality of irrigation water requires specific crops to get good production.
