Abstract
Change detection is one of the most widely used processing techniques in remote sensing. It is a process of identifying differences in the state of a geographic feature or phenomenon by monitoring at different times.
Had ‘daniyah depression is one of the most remarkable depressions in southern deserts it lies about 20 Km from Salman city with coordinates (30° 31` – 44° 39`), (30° 31` – 44° 43` ), (30° 24` – 44° 42` ), (30° 25` – 44° 37`). With an area approximately 103 Km².
Landsat images of MSS, TM, and ETM for the years 1972.1990. And 2002 respectively were used to monitoring the changes in vegetations, and by applying the NDVI equation we conclude an increasing of vegetation in 1972 with an area 16 Km2, and 1990 the area was 2 Km2 and in 2002 the vegetation area was 0.7 Km2 (700m2)for the search area and that due to many reason.
